TRAVELLING ABROAD

Our nurses offer advice for when you are travelling abroad. You will need collect a travel form for each member of the family travelling from the surgery and make an appointment to see the nurse. We will need at least 6 - 8 weeks notice before you travel. The nurse will go through the form with you and check your immunisation status; she will then recommend a schedule of vaccinations if necessary. (Vaccines have to be ordered in as they are not a stock item).

Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge or incur a charge.  This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS; you will be advised at your appointment of these costs.
