General Information regarding Repeat Prescriptions
Regular medication is ordered using the computerised repeat prescription sheet generated each time you submit your request.
** This takes 2 working days to process & up to, but no more than 72 hrs.
You may be asked to see a doctor or nurse if your medication needs to be reviewed, to ensure that you continue to receive the most appropriate treatment.
It is adviseable not to leave requests until you run out.
For safety reasons we DO NOT take prescription requests over the phone.
You may request prescriptions in person, by submitting the right-hand side of your prescription to the surgery, or completing a request slip available from the reception desk; once completed either of these should be posted in the prescription box adjacent to the front door. The easiest way to request repeat medication is to request it online, please see below for more details.
DURING COVID WE ARE NOT ABLE TO SIGN PATIENTS UP TO PATIENT ACCESS, HOWEVER PATIENTS CAN DOWNLOAD THE NHS APP (AVAILABLE FOR BOTH ANDROID AND IOS PHONES) THIS WILL LET YOU ORDER PRESCRIPTIONS, SEE TEST RESULTS, ETC.
REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS CAN BE ORDERED SAFELY ON LINE USING PATIENT ACCESS
1) Please call into the surgery between Monday and Friday or call after 2.30 pm to ask for your own security details which will enable you to open an account and access this service on the internet. Once this is set up your prescription will be processed as above **.
2) Prescription items included on your "repeat" medication list only, are displayed.
3) Other medication not shown can only be ordered in writing to the doctor, asking for it to be added to your repeat presciption list. Should the doctor be unable to do this he/she will inform you of the reason. (e.g. This may be due to a monitoring period).
4) If you need to make requests early or you need additional quantities, state clearly in the message box the reasons why. E.g. You may be going on holiday.
Once processed they will be available for collection from the surgery or the local pharmacist. Any queries regarding this service please do ask to speak to the practice manager.
